Explore mobile technology's value in the hospitality industry, evaluate mobile's role in customer acquisition and forecasting that can lead to a better understanding of the guest and remove barriers to mobile entry.
Identify existing mobile technology that benefits hotel distribution, suggest gaps in existing technology that holds back further disruption opportunities, and identify what can be done to have immediate impact on mobile distribution.
IDENTIFIED BUSINESS PROBLEMS
Digital friction is hurting the industry. Mobile friction differs greatly from desktop friction. The hotel industry may not be understanding these concerns when building new interfaces.
Educate hospitality community on the concept of mobile friction. Highlight similarities and differences between mobile and desktop friction. Suggest measurable fixes to mobile friction. Develop an industry white paper to support further understanding and research in this area.
Meetings will be scheduled once a month, and more frequently during periods leading up to HEDNA conferences.
WORKING GROUP COMPOSITION
The Mobile Working Group would be best served with a cross section of hotel distribution professionals, technology distribution professionals, and industry consultants.
HEDNA sponsored whitepaper to be delivered at HEDNA Dublin, with an option for further research on mobile related topics.
Liaise with HEDNA technology members to discuss the findings of the mobile working group and discuss opportunities to implement them in future technologies.
